Volunteer of the Year!

“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, what are you doing for others?” – Martin Luther King, Jr.

Over 46 years ago CECI was founded as a parent co-op. Over those years CECI has evolved into a non-profit that has recently embraced a nature-based early childhood educational approach. Every year, CECI’s Board of Directors and families pour their time, energy, and efforts into fundraising for this beloved preschool program. Due to recent times, CECI has had to creatively think of ways to raise funds to instill that their program remains a pillar of this community. Many community members and organizations have donated to their cause. CECI would like to take this time to recognize one man in particular; Bob Popoff. Mr. Bob came to CECI a few months ago in search of volunteering in lieu of many other organizations temporarily halting their volunteering programs. Little did he know that he would have the opportunity to impact the heart and soul of the future of Sanibel Island. CECI’s small preschool’s facilities are in desperate need of love and care. With their fixed budget, due to Covid-19, Mr. Bob has been a complete hero in their eyes. He comes in everyday and fixes, cleans, paints, mends, and offers all of his help when he can. CECI cannot thank you enough Mr. Bob!
